Champ: The Year That Was 2013

Hi everyone, I hope you had a wonderful New Year celebration and you've made lots of good New Year resolutions. I have: I'm going to shower my friends and Foster Family with love; and I'm going to show the world how to love animals everywhere.

I thought back on how far I've come since I was rescued. It's hard to put all my feelings in words, but my fantastic musician friend Joe Zamora and his band One Bad Munky said it all for me. Please watch and share this amazing music video.

Champ and Joe's Christmas Album

Hello everyone! I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas with lots of love and gifts. I had a wonderful day, and so did my blind friend Joe. In fact, we'd like to share our day with you by showing you our Christmas Album of photos that our foster families took.

I didn't want to put on any reindeer antlers, but Joe is pretty cool about everything. Maybe it's coz he can't see what he looks like!

Everyone at SAFE Rescue got a special something and Joe said he would be Santa's helper! I think he looks so cool.

 

We had such a great day that we were both so tired afterwards. Here's Joe snoozing in his Xmas reindeer sweater.

Finding Family at Christmas

I've been thinking about families this Christmas. You see, I am such a lucky dog. I was in a terrible home that you couldn't even call a home - more like a prison, and then when my life changed, I found out what family is supposed to be like. My Foster Family love me so much and I am blessed. Here's a picture of the small dogs in my Foster Family, including me (I am on the bottom left in my winter coat).

I mustn't forget Amber, my big younger Foster Sister. Here's me having a snooze with her just a while after I got rescued.

 

And my humans are obviously the most loveliest, caring people in the world. Here's me with Foster Mommy Suzy, having a snuggle. She is telling me how much she loves me and even though I am not sure she hears me, I tell her back how much I love her.

Foster Daddy Robert is the best Foster Daddy any dog could wish for. He loves taking us for walks. That's great because we LOVE walks. It's like going to Disneyland, only way cheaper.

What I'm trying to say is this: your family is the one most precious thing that you have in life. I don't think humans understand, but we dogs (and I guess most other animals) know just how important it is to have that love around you. If you have quarrelled with someone in your family, (maybe they sneaked your bone, or your blanket, or stole your best toy) then now is the time to kiss and make up. We animals have such short lives compared to humans and that's why we try to pack all the happiness and love we can into every single day. You never know what is around the corner. Don't regret putting up a wall of anger. Pull it down now, pick up that tellyfone thingie that humans love, and make the call. Find your family and lots and lots of love this Christmas. You won't regret it.

Love: The Best Christmas Gift of All

Don't you just love Christmas? This Christmas with my loving Foster Family will be the happiest one in my life. I try not to remember the past, but sometimes it's hard to forget;

especially when I think of all the sad animals out there who still haven't got what they need most: love. I know my fosters will get me lots of great things for Christmas - a new squeaky ball, a new coat, yummy treats, even more toys. Here's a picture of me in my new red coat, sitting on my Foster Mommy's lap. She loves me so much and every day she tells me I will never be cold, hungry, or in pain ever again. I love it when she says that, and she says it a lot.

I'm only a dog, but I've got plenty of what matters most: love. Every day I give the people who care for me all the love I have inside me. They don't need 'things' because humans already have so many things to make them a bit happy. Love is what makes everyone the happiest they can ever be.

Then I think about all the animals who are lucky enough to have made it to a shelter. That's not as bad as being in a terrible place of abuse, or out in the streets. Please share your Christmas with them. If you don't know what to give animals for Christmas, the shelter people will have some ideas. If you live far away from a shelter then just donate. Remember, no amount is too small. Every little bit helps. If a million people gave ONE dollar to a shelter, think how many dollars that would be. Wow! The shelter could do a lot with that, I'm sure.

Here's my list, if you need some ideas: warm blankets (it's cold this winter), some delicious special snacks, maybe some dogs need extra coats (?), and most of all, pay them a visit and just spread a little love. You have no idea how much a pat or a hug means to us animals. We love and we long to be loved back.

about Joe in new posts. He is very brave because he had to have an operation to take out his bad eyes. But he is so happy to be with fosters that love him, I don't think he cares about anything else. He is asking Santa for a new Fur-Ever Home for his Christmas gift. I think lots of animals will be asking for the same thing this year.

Champ's Tip For Today: do you live in a cold area where it will snow this Christmas? Please bring your dog inside and make sure it is warm and snug with a lovely cosy blanket. If you see your neighbor's dog freezing outside, ask them to make sure it has a warm kennel (if they don't want to bring it inside).

How I Got Rescued

Many of my fans and followers know the story of how I got saved on 11 May, 2013. My biodographer, Fiona Ingram, helped me write my book about my story. I also wrote my very own poem and I think it tells it all in a few lines. I hope you enjoy it and please share it with other people who love animals.
